It was a great night in Fort Collins, as the Mighty Colorado State University Rams beat the Colorado Buffaloes on the Buffs home field in Boulder 23 - 17! Most of the games recently have been at Mile High stadium in Denver, so this is the first win in Boulder since 1986. I was at the game in 86, and it was quite a scene then, I can only imagine how much fun it was for a Ram fan in Boulder this time, as I watched the game from home. Here is a link to the initial Denver Post article on the game.GO RAMMIES!!!!!!!!!

Graham’s Birthday
Graham turned 8 last Sunday! We celebrated by going to Fort Fun for laser tag and all sorts of other games. Then we came home and played on the rope swing, had cake, and finally opened presents at the end of the day. I knew Graham and the other kids were having fun, because I actually had to drag them inside to open presents at the end of the day. Scroll down to the birthday party album on the 2009 pics page.
Late Summer Trip to Nebraska
Last week Robyn and the kids made a quick trip to South Dakota, to see our friend Devyn in Sioux Falls, then drove down to Robyn’s hometown Fremont Nebraska. I flew out and met them on Friday night. It is always fun to go back and visit family and old friends. Robyn’s childhood friend Carrie Clements, and her girls Sydney and Jordan, even drove down from Chicago to meet us. Enjoy the pictures. In case you hadn’t heard, apparantly everyone in Nebraska has given up their Cornhusker hats for the latest craze, “Twisty baloon hats”.
Grey Rock Hike
At the end of June we found a good day to do one of our favorite hikes a little ways up the Poudre Canyon. We took the Greyrock Trail. Tommy sported his best hiking socks, and carried a big rock all the way down the mountain. Graham and Maya found “Giant Dandelions”, and water skeeters in the brook. As usual there are pics of the adventure.
Rafting on the Cache La Poudre River
The day before the 4th of July brought the fun of rafting on the Poudre river. Several families went up and enjoyed a day on the river. Here are the pics.
Bingham Baseball
All three kids are playing baseball this summer. Tommy and Maya are on the same Kindergarten team. At this level they get 3 strikes with their coach pitching. If they don’t get a hit, then they hit off the tee. Last game they both got hits without the tee. Graham’s 1st grade team is a 3 strikes from the coach pitching, with no chance from a tee. Graham has been hitting real well. They all seem to enjoy it, and so do we. Watching little kids in the field is very entertaining. Here are some pics.
Summer Trip Photo Time Again
I actually found time to put up some pictures of some summer fun. We went to the Great Sand Dunes National Park.
It was a great camping trip that was highlighted by playing in Medano Creek, and “skiing” the dunes. My neighbor Ray cut off several sets of ski’s and mounted old Teva like sandals to them. The result was small “telemark” style skis for the dunes. You can check out the pictures here. You may also notice there is a new main picture at the top of this website. The picture taken when we were in Ixtapa Mexico has been replaced by a “stitch” of several photos showing the Sand Dunes with part of the Sangre De Cristo range in the distance.
Weddings and Graduations
May brought weddings and Graduations for the 5binghams. Graham “graduated” from kindergarten, and Tommy and Maya got to be the Ring Bearer and Flower Girl in their cousin Bobbi Jo’s wedding. They really looked good all dressed up! I think Maya thought it was her wedding. You can see the pics on the 2008 photos page.
California Trip
In April we took a trip to California. We hung out at the beach, and took the kids to all the parks, (Sea World, Lego Land, and Disneyland). We also got to stay with Uncle Randy and Aunt Wini! A good time was had by all. Pictures can be found under the 2008 Photos page. Tune in as the summer goes on, as we have several more trips planned.
Website Change
5binghams.com got hacked by someone wanting to use the domain to send out massive amounts of phishing emails. We figured it out quickly and stopped them, but decided to take the opportunity change ISP’s. Since it is summer, and I am busy as usual, it may take awhile before all the content is back.
